What maintenance does a pool lift for People with disabilities require?
The ACCESS hydraulic lifts of Blautec are manufactured in stainless steel AISI 316L (structure) and polypropylene (pool chair for people with disabilities), both materials are fully suitable for outdoor use. Although both materials do not require much care, it is advisable to perform periodic maintenance (being a product installed outdoors).
Once our lift is installed, we must do a general cleaning so that the surface is clean. From that moment on, periodic maintenance can be established and according to the characteristics of the outdoor environment where it is located. If these steps are followed, we can expect a long life and with few changes in the appearance of the lift.

Maintenance tips for ACCESS lifts
Rinse the lift structure with plenty of pressurized fresh water at the end of each day.
Remove the lift from the water whenever the chlorine and pH levels are not adequate to prevent corrosion of the lift.
When not in use, always leave the lift in the initial position, with the seat out of the water.
Make a minimum of 2 up and down maneuvers to avoid fouling the liner.
When not in use, always leave the lift in the initial position, with the seat out of the water.
Every week, wipe the steel with a damp cloth to prevent the formation of lime deposits or residues to prevent rust.
Once a year, we recommend a technical review of all its parts following basic instructions specified in the instruction manual of the lift. These are basic checks to prevent long-term problems such as tightening all nuts or check that no water is leaking from the joints.
How to clean the stainless steel of the pool lift without damaging it?
All grades and finishes of stainless steel can stain, discolor or get an adhering layer of dirt under normal use. To achieve maximum corrosion resistance, the surface of stainless steel must be kept clean. But there is no need to worry too much, as stainless steel is very easy to clean. Generally, it is sufficient to wash with soap, neutral detergent or a specific cleaner for stainless steel and hot water followed by rinsing with clean water.
A better appearance of the product will be achieved if the cleaned surface is dried afterwards (thus avoiding the multiplying action of heat in the presence of moisture). It should be borne in mind that, on satin-finished surfaces on which dirt has been deposited, the washing movement should be parallel to the direction of the satin finish and avoid scratching the surface with dust. On polished surfaces, dust should be removed beforehand to avoid scratching the surface. Preventive maintenance should be adapted to the environmental conditions to which the pool lift is subjected (dust, dirt, humidity in combination with heat, saline or potentially corrosive environments, ...) and the following cleaning methods can be used:

ACTION
CLEANER
COMMENTS
OVERALL CLEANING
Soap or mild detergent (stainless steel cleaner) and hot water.
Sponge, rinse with clean water and dry with a cloth following the direction of polishing.
DIGITAL STONES
Soap and hot water or organic solvent: acetone, methanol or stainless steel cleaner.
Rinse with clean water and dry following the polishing lines.
PERSISTENT SPREADS AND DECOLORATION
Mild solution, low abrasive cleaners and stainless steel cleaners.
Use a soft cloth, sponge or brush. Rinse well with clean water and dry following the polishing lines.
LIME DEPOSITS
Solution composed of one part vinegar and three parts water.
Soak with the solution, brush to loosen and rinse with clean water.
OIL OR FAT MARKS
Organic solvent, acetone, stainless steel cleaner or trichloroethanol.
Clean with soap and hot water, rinse with clean water and dry following the polish lines.
OXIDATION AND/OR CORROSION
Acid cleaner (applied by professionals).
Rinse thoroughly with clean water, wear gloves and mix the solution in a glass container with great caution.
SLAVES IN POLISH
Nylon cloths soaked with soap or detergent.
Do not use ordinary metal fibers.
What are the things to remember to clean the stainless steel of the pool lifts?
Always rub the stainless steel in the same direction as the grain.
If a stain must be scrubbed to remove it, make sure you use a clean nylon scouring pad or cloth with a creamy chalk-based cleaner.
Never use metal fibers to clean stainless steel. They are normally made of steel and any fragments left behind will rust the surface of the stainless steel.
What should we never do to clean stainless steel pool elevator for People with disabilities?
Scrubbing with metallic fibers (threads or wire wool) or scraping with steel tools.
Using scouring pads and cleaning cloths that have been used on ordinary steel.
Scrubbing with plastic scouring pads across the grain on matte finish surfaces.
Using concentrated bleaches or products that may release chlorine ions (hydrochloric acid for cleaning or their solutions).
